A family-owned business, 2nd Family began as a result of our own experience in searching for in-home care for our grandmother. We discovered first-hand that there was a huge void between the level of care available and the level of care that we wanted for our own loved one. It was frustrating and emotionally draining for our family. Having gone through the process of trying to find someone to care for our grandmother, cousins Chad Tracey and Josh Markland immediately felt compelled to fill that void and help others dealing with similar situations by offering our clients a more personalized, organized, and transparent senior care experience.
By taking more of a managed care approach typically found in the medical home health industry, our clients and their families receive higher-quality care. Blending an increased use of technology with a dedicated Care Coordinator for each client, our communication channels are clear and transparent, and always handled by a human. We supplement that human touch with our 2nd Family app, which gives families and caregivers instant access to everything in our system, from invoices to schedule change requests.
From a franchise system perspective, our franchise support portal has a wealth of information for our franchise owners to access at any time, including our digital franchise operations manual, tutorial videos covering all aspects of the business, and all of the software that we use, a guided 6-week pre-opening course designed to help launch a new franchise, advertising materials, image files, job descriptions, and a ton more.
We also have 2nd Family University, which is a set of curriculum used to train a new franchise owner. The courses walk a new owner through learning and implementing each position in the company – Scheduling, Human Resources, Business Development, Customer Support, and Care Coordinator. When the franchise owner is ready to hire a new employee, he/she can enroll that employee in a position-specific course in 2nd Family University to ensure that the employee is trained to the same high standard as every other location in our system.
