Mosquito control seemed like the perfect complementary business allowing him to work indoors from January to April on taxes, outdoors from April to October on the mosquito business, and still allowing for 2 full months off each year to enjoy. While Mosquito Mike may have started as a “side hustle” to fill the off-season, it quickly evolved into a bustling business that continues to grow exponentially each year. As word of mouth spread, Mosquito Mike was soon being requested for jobs well outside a comfortable driving distance. After enough of these requests, Mike realized he could no longer keep the success all to himself – and the idea of a franchise was born.
